A source of lithium oxide in glazes. Though costly compared to its sodium and potassium carbonate cousins, it is far less soluble, fluxes similarly (strongly), and thwarts crazing due to its low atomic weight and coefficient of expansion. Alkaline Lithia promotes blue from copper and pink from cobalt.
