SIO-2 clay is produced in Spain by Cerámica Collet S.A.

LAGOON is a porcelain that stands out for its beautiful and stimulating range of turquoise blues in its firing range. It has high plasticity, which makes it ideal for wheel-throwing and modelling. Its formula is very stable and provides a secure firing range between 1200 and 1240ºC (oxidizing atmosphere). Suitable for tableware (food-safe), according to ISO 6486. Available in moist form, vacuum-packed in 5 kg boxes.

Firing range*: 1200-1240ºC / Cone 5-6
Biscuit temperature: 1000ºC / Cone 06
Water content: 23%
Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 11
Carbonate content (CaCO3): 0%
Drying shrinkage: 5.6%
Firing shrinkage 1240ºC: 10.6%
Porosity (water absorption) at 1240ºC: 0.0%
Dry bending strength: 2.2 N/mm2
Fired bending strength 1240ºC: 46.3 N/mm2
Thermal coefficient 1240ºC (25-500ºC): 64.9x10^-7ºC^-1

ACMI AP Seal. Conforms to ASTM D-4236.

(*) The recommended cone range (based on Orton self-supporting cones heated @150ºC/hr) indicates firing conditions that produce optimum technical and safety characteristics. Clay samples shown that are outside the suggested firing range have been included for a broader view and were fired under controlled conditions.
